The assignment I was originally hired for and the one I am most proud of is the Elpis skybox. The concept was ambitious, and the execution even more so. In the story, Elpis shatters the veil of Kairos, revealing the true nebula filled sky that had been hidden for ages.
The skybox needed to be interactive. The first plan was to have three stages, but as the narrative evolved, it expanded it to six, each one distinct yet naturally connected to the next.
I developed this together with technical artist Sasha Mills. Over about a year and a half, we worked on it and and off. My focus was on creating the textures and defining the look and feel of each stage, while Sasha brought it all to life with her Unreal Engine expertise.
The project went through numerous revisions right up until the end of development. Jason Neal handled the final models of Elpis, and Sperasoft created the particle effects. Collaborating with them to push the final result even further was an incredible experience.
